Phrynobatrachus pakenhami Loveridge, 1941, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 54: 178. Holotype: MCZ 24568, by original designation. Type locality: "Machengwe Swamp, near Wete, Pemba Island", Tanzania.

Phrynobatrachus nigripes Pickersgill, 2007, Frog Search: 271. Holotype: ZMB 66251, by original designation. Type locality: "Ngezi F[orest]. R[eserve]., Pemba", Tanzania. Synonymy by Pickersgill, 2008, Zootaxa, 1820: 67-68.

Distribution

Northern part of Pemba Island, Tanzania.
