Phrynobatrachus irangi Drewes and Perret, 2000, Proc. California Acad. Sci., Ser. 4, 52: 56. Holotype: MHNG 2230, by original designation. Type locality: "Kenya: Meru District: Irangi Forest, above Irangi Forest Station, springs of Ena Stream. 0° 24′ S, 37° 28′, elevation 2100".

English Names

Irangi Puddle Frog (Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 279).

Distribution

High altitude grasslands of the Aberdare Mountains and the slopes of Mount Kenya, Kenya, 1900-2300 m elevation.

Comment

Most similar to Phrynobatrachus parvulus, according to the original publication. Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 279-280, provided an account. Frétey, 2008, Alytes, 25: 99-17, summarized the literature.
