Phrynobatrachus intermedius Rödel, Boateng, Penner, and Hillers, 2009, Zootaxa, 1970: 54. Holotype: ZMB 71538, by original designation. Type locality: "primary forest near stream, partly swampy, Ankasa Conservation Area, N 5°16.642′, W 02°38.253′, Ghana".

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Known only from two sites in the Ankasa Reserve in southwestern Ghana.

Comment

Most similar to Phrynobatrachus liberiensis and Phrynobatrachus plicatus, and most closely related to Phrynobatrachus liberiensis, according to the original publication. In species group C of Zimkus, Rödel, and Hillers, 2010, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 55: 883-900, and suggested to be the sister taxon of Phrynobatrachus liberiensis.
