Phrynobatrachus cricogaster Perret, 1957, Rev. Suisse Zool., 64: 527. Holotype: MHNG 923.31, by original designation. Type locality: "Massif du Manengouba, 30 km de Nkongsamba, 1000 m, foret de montagne", Cameroon.

English Names

Nkongsamba River Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 103).

Distribution

Mountains of southeastern Nigeria (Obudu Plateau and higher parts of the Oban Hillis) and western Cameroon (Rump Hills, Mount Kupe, Mount Manengouba, Mount Nlongako, and the Bamileke Plateay) at elevations of 850-1850 m in the southern and western edges of the Cameroon Range.
