Distribution
High-gradient streams in the hilly forested parts of West Africa in Sierra Leone, northern Liberia, southern Guinea, and western Ivory Coast, 0-1400 m elevation.

Possibly distinct from other Petropedetes according to J. L. Amiet In Perret, 1984, Bull. Soc. Neuchatel. Sci. Nat., 107: 167. Rödel and Bangoura, 2004, Tropical Zool., 17: 210, provided brief comments about specimens from Guinea.
