Proceratophrys paviotii Cruz, Prado, and Izecksohn, 2005, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 63: 290. Holotype: MNRJ 34936, by original designation. Type locality: "BRASIL-ESPíRITO Santo: Município de Santa Teresa, Estação Biológica de Santa Lúcia (19° 57′ S, 40° 31′ W, 560 m de altitude)".

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (municipality of Santa Teresa) and 190 km to the north in the municipality of Pinheiros, in the mountainous region of Espírito Santo, Brazil.

Comment

Most closely related to Proceratophrys boiei according to the original publication. See account by Prado and Pombal, 2008, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 39: 1-85 [64-68]. Peres and Simon, 2011, Herpetol. Rev., 42: 108, provided a record from the municipality of Pinheiros, Espírito Santo, Brazil, and commented on the range.
