Pseudophryne semi-marmorata Lucas, 1892, Proc. R. Soc. Victoria, 4: 63. Syntypes: Not stated; considered to include NMV D7195-96, D7234-37, D7259; NMV D7196 designated lectotype by Coventry, 1970, Mem. Natl. Mus. Victoria, 31: 117. Type localities: "Oakleigh, Heidelberg,Ringwood, Narre Warren, Waterloo, [and] Grampians", Victoria, Australia. Restricted to Grampian Ranges, Victoria, Australia, by lectotype designation.

Pseudophryne bibronii var. semimarmorata — Fletcher, 1898, Proc. Linn. Soc. New South Wales, Ser. 2, 12: 665.
