Mixophyes hihihorlo Donnellan, Mahony, and Davies, 1990, Herpetologica, 46: 267. Holotype: AMS R120828, by original designation. Type locality: "Namosado, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea, 6°15′ S, 142°47′ E", 900 m elevation.

English Names

Namosado Barred Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 95).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Namosado, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea, 900 m elevation).

Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 63, provided a brief account. Shea and Kraus, 2007, Zootaxa, 1514: 37-60, commented on types.
