Phrynomantis annectens Werner, 1910, Denkschr. Med. Naturwiss. Ges. Jena, 16: 294. Holotype: ZMB 24829, according to Bauer, Günther, and Robeck, 1996, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 72: 267. Type locality: "Aar-Rivier", Namibia.

Phrynomantis nasuta Methuen and Hewitt, 1913, Ann. Transvaal Mus., 4: 122. Holotype: TMP 1317, by original designation. Type locality: "a pool at Kraikluft in the Great Karas Mountains at an altitude of 5000 feet", Namibia. The possibility of relationship with Phrynomantis annectans noted by Hewitt, 1926, Ann. S. Afr. Mus., 20: 488. Synonymy by Parker, 1936, Novit. Zool., 40: 143; Loveridge, 1936, Field Mus. Nat. Hist. Publ., Zool. Ser., 22: 111.

Hoplophryne marmorata Ahl, 1934, Zool. Anz., 107: 334. Holotype: ZMB 35132, according to Bauer, Günther, and Robeck, 1996, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 72: 263. Type locality: "Okahandja", Namibia. Synonymy by Parker, 1936, Novit. Zool., 40: 143; Loveridge, 1936, Field Mus. Nat. Hist. Publ., Zool. Ser., 22: 111.

Ctenophryne marmorata Ahl, 1935, Zool. Anz., 112: 254. Holotype: ZMB 35377 according to Bauer, Günther, and Robeck, 1996, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 72: 261. Type locality: "ohne Fundort und Sammler". Synonymy by Zweifel, 1989, Copeia, 1989: 229-231.

Western Angola south through Namibia to the Augrabies area of western Northern Cape Province, Rep. South Africa.
