Microhyla annamensis Smith, 1923, J. Nat. Hist. Soc. Siam, 6: 47. Holotype: BMNH 1923.5.14.10 according to Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 130. Type locality: "Sui Kat, 1000 metres altitude, Langbian plateau, S. Annam", Vietnam.

Distribution

Kao Sebab, southeastern Thailand; southern Vietnam (Lam Dong, Dac Lac, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, and Quang Nam-Danang provinces, 400-1200 m elevation); in intervening Laos and Cambodia.

Comment

Subgenus Microhyla, Microhyla berdmorei group. Related to Microhyla berdmorei, according to the original publication. See comment under Microhyla borneesis. See accounts by Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 513-514, and Taylor, 1962, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 43: 542-543. Orlov, Murphy, Ananjeva, Ryabov, and Ho, 2002, Russ. J. Herpetol., 9: 99, provided a statement of range. Reported for southwestern Cambodia by Ohler, Swan, and Daltry, 2002, Raffles Bull. Zool., 50: 465-481. Nutphund, 2001, Amph. Thailand: 170, provided a brief characterization and photograph, which Ohler, 2003, Alytes, 21: 102, attributed to Microhyla berdmorei. Stuart, 1999, in Duckworth et al. (eds.), Wildlife in Lao PDR: 49, reported the species in Laos. Chan-ard, 2003, Photograph. Guide Amph. Thailand: 100-101, provided a very brief account, map for Thailand, and photograph.
