Calluella yunnanensis Boulenger, 1919, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 9, 3: 548. Syntypes: BMNH 1905.5.30.47 and 1907.5.4.30 (2 specimens), according to Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 29 (although only 2 specimens mentioned in the original publication). Type locality: "Yunnan Fou [= Kunming]", Yunnan, China.

Kaluella yunnanensis — Gee and Boring, 1929, Peking Nat. Hist. Bull., 4: 25.

Calluella ocellata Liu, 1950, Fieldiana, Zool. Mem., 2: 232. Holotype: FMNH 55870, by original designation. Type locality: "Szekuaipa [= Sikuaiba], Chaochiaohsien [= Zhaojue County], Sikang [= now part of Sichuan Province], 7,800 feet", China. Synonymy by Liu and Hu, 1961, Tailless Amph. China: 283.

English Names

Yunnan Squat Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 88).

Yunnan Small Narrow-mouthed Frog (Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 290).

Distribution

Yunnan, southern Sichuan, and western Guizhou (Yunkwei Plateau), China; Lai Cai and Lai Chau provinces in adjacent northern Vietnam; presumably to be found in adjacent Laos.
