Parhoplophryne usambaricus Barbour and Loveridge, 1928, Mem. Mus. Comp. Zool., 50: 260. Holotype: MCZ 13818, by original designation. Type locality: "in the forested hills to the west of Amani, Usambara Mountains, Tanganyika Territory [=Tanzania]".
