Engistoma aequatoriale Peracca, 1904, Boll. Mus. Zool. Anat. Comp. Univ. Torino, 19 (465): 23. Syntypes: MZUT An528 (5 specimens), according to Gavetti and Andreone, 1993, Cat. Mus. Reg. Sci. Nat., Torino, 10: 116, who note that only 4 specimens are noted in the original publication. Type locality: "Cuenca, Ecuador", at an elevation of 2536 m according to Peters, 1955, Rev. Ecuat. Entomol. Parsitol., 2: 336.
