Chiasmocleis boliviana Parker, 1927, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 187: 3. Holotype: BMNH, unnumbered according to the original publication; BM 1927.8.1.1 reported as holotype by Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 119. Type locality: "Buena Vista, Santa Cruz, Bolivia".

English Names

Bolivian Bleating Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 89).

Distribution

Northern and western sides of the Amazon basin: State of Bolivar (Venezuela), French Guiana, Surinam, Guyana, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Colombia.

Comment

Paolillo-O., 1986, Herpetol. Rev., 17: 25-26, provided the first record for Venezuela. Lescure and Marty, 2000, Collect. Patrimoines Nat., Paris, 45: 274-275, provided a photo and brief account for French Guiana. Barrio-Amorós, 1999 "1998", Acta Biol. Venezuelica, 18: 57, commented on the Venezuelan distribution.
