Confused with Elachistocleis ovalis prior to its naming according to the original publication. Strussmann, Campos, Rodrigues, Almeida, Toledo, Hoogmoed, and Valadão, 2012, Check List, 8: 317-320, provided a geographic range map and discussed the range.
