Chiasmocleis alagoanus Cruz, Caramaschi, and Freire, 1999, J. Zool., London, 249: 123. Holotype: MNRJ 21856, by original designation. Type locality: "Mata do Catolé, Municipality of Maceió (09° 40′ S, 35° 43′ W), State of Alagoas, Brazil".

Chiasmocleis alagoana — Canedo, Dixo, and Pombal, 2004, Herpetologica, 60: 495. Correction of gender.

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Found in remnants of the Atlantic rainforest in Alagoas, Paraíba, and Pernambuco, northeastern Brazil.

Comment

Most closely related to Chiasmocleis atlantica, Chiasmocleis carvalhoi, and Chiasmocleis schubarti according to the original publication. Santos and Amorim, 2010, Herpetol. Rev., 41: 103, provided a record for Pernambuco, Brazil, and discussed the range.
