Bufo buchneri Peters, 1882, Sitzungsber. Ges. Naturforsch. Freunde Berlin, 1882: 147. Holotype: ZMB 10103, according to Bauer, Günther, and Klipfel, 1995, in Bauer et al. (eds.), Herpetol. Contr. W.C.H. Peters: 40. Type locality: "Lunda (Africa occidentalis) . . . . Lunda (W. Africa)", Angola.

Bufo Decorsei Mocquard, 1903, Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, 9: 214. Holotype: MNHNP 1903.9, according to Guibé, 1950 "1948", Cat. Types Amph. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat.: 13. Distribution

Cabinda Enclave (Angola) to western Rep. Congo; presumably to be found in adjacent Dem. Rep. Congo.

Comment

Tandy and Keith, 1972, in Blair (ed.), Evol. Genus Bufo: 158, tentatively referred Bufo buchneri to the synonymy of Bufo funereus; therefore assigned to their Bufo funereus group.
