Distribution
Eastern Madagascar along slow-moving streams in primary forest.
Comment
Grandidier, 1877, Bull. Soc. Philomath., Paris, Ser. 7, 1: 41, and Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 180, considered Kalula guineti Grandidier, 1875, to by snonymous with Dyscophus insularis. Chiari, Orozco-terWengel, Vences, Vieites, Sarovy, Randrianirina, Meyer, and Louis, 2006, Conserv. Genetics, 7: 473-482, reported that mtDNA did not provide an adequate diagnosis of Dyscophus guineti from Dyscophus antongilii, although microsatellite data do.
