Comment

Grandidier, 1877, Bull. Soc. Philomath., Paris, Ser. 7, 1: 41, and Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 180, considered Kalula guineti Grandidier, 1875, to by snonymous with Dyscophus insularis. Chiari, Orozco-terWengel, Vences, Vieites, Sarovy, Randrianirina, Meyer, and Louis, 2006, Conserv. Genetics, 7: 473-482, reported that mtDNA did not provide an adequate diagnosis of Dyscophus guineti from Dyscophus antongilii, although microsatellite data do. See brief account by Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3: 116-117.
