Stumpffia pygmaea Vences and Glaw, 1991, Acta Biol. Benrodis, 3: 215. Holotype: ZFMK 52541, by original designation. Type locality: "ca. 1 km nördlich von Andoany [= Hellville], Nosy Be [Island], Nordwest-Madagascar".

Distribution
Known only Nosy Be and Nosy Komba off the northwest coast of Madagascar, 0-300 m elevation.
