Plethodontohyla tuberifera Methuen, 1920 "1919", Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1919: 354. Syntypes: TMP 1265-1271 and 1269 exchanged to the BMNH (now BMNH 1919.8.15.1, according to Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 39); TMP 10080 (former number unknown) considered holotype, a lectotype designation by implication, by Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 73. Type locality: "Ambatoharanana, forest of Central East Madagascar".
