Platypelis tsaratananaensis Guibé, 1974, Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, Ser. 3, Zool., 171: 1184. Holotype: MNHNP A.685, by original designation; noted as MNHNP 1993.685, by Rakotoarison, Glaw, Vieites, Raminosoa, and Vences, 2012, Zootaxa, 3563: 9. Type locality: "Massif du Tsaratanana: forêt de bambous (2600 m)", Madagascar.

Platypelis tasartananaensis — Duellman, 1993, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 21: 195. Incorrect subsequent spelling.

English Names

Tsaratanana Giant Treefrog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 92).

Distribution

Tsaratanana and Anjanaharibe-Sud Mountains, northern Madagascar, 1300-2600 m elevation.
