Amazophrynella vote Ávila, Carvalho, Gordo, Kawashita-Ribeiro, and Morais, 2012, Zootaxa, 3484: 66. Holotype: UFMT-A 11138, by original designation. Type locality: "Fazenda São Nicolau (09°50′ 43.3″ S, 58°13′ 10.6″ W), municipality of Cotriguaçu, Mato Grosso state, central Brazil".

Distribution
Known from three localities at northern Mato Grosso in the muncipalities of Aripuanã, Colniza, and Cotriguaçu), in four municipalities within Amazonas state (Tapauá, Beruri, Manicoré and Novo Aripuanã Canutama), and in eastern Rondônia state (municipality of Ji-Paraná).
