Cophyla phyllodactyla Boettger, 1880, Zool. Anz., 3: 281. Syntypes: 2 specimens mentioned in original description, SMF by implication; SMF 1183a (4 specimens) according to Boettger, 1892, Kat. Batr. Samml. Mus. Senckenb. Naturforsch. Ges.: vi; SMF 4296 (new numbering system) designated lectotype by Mertens, 1967, Senckenb. Biol., 48(A): 49. Type locality: "insula Nossi-Bé", Madagascar.

Northern Madagascar; Nosy Bé I.
