Xenobatrachus huon Blum and Menzies, 1989 "1988", Alytes, 7: 142. Holotype: UP 7431, by original designation. Listed as destroyed by Shea and Kraus, 2007, Zootaxa, 1514: 39. Type locality: "upper Kua River valley, Rawlinson Mountains, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea between 1630 and 2130 m".

English Names

Morobe Fanged Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 93).

Distribution

Only known from localities between 1300 and 2000 m in the eastern Huon Peninsula mountains, Papua New Guinea.

Comment

In the Xenobatrachus rostratus group of Blum and Menzies, 1989 "1988", Alytes, 7: 125-163, rejected by Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 256, who provided a brief account (as Xenobatrachus huon) on page 260. Shea and Kraus, 2007, Zootaxa, 1514: 37-60, commented on types.
