Xenobatrachus arfakianus Blum and Menzies, 1989 "1988", Alytes, 7: 148. Holotype: UP 8203, by original designation. Type locality: "on the track between Makwam and Minyambou, northern Arfak Mountains, Irian Jaya [now Papua], about 1500 m", Indonesia.

Distribution

Arfak Mountains, Papua, Indonesia (New Guinea), 1500-2000 m elevation.

Comment

In the Xenobatrachus rostratus group of Blum and Menzies, 1989 "1988", Alytes, 7: 125-163, rejected by Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 256, who provided a brief account (as Xenobatrachus arfakianus) on page 258-259. Shea and Kraus, 2007, Zootaxa, 1514: 37-60, commented on types.
