Oreophryne geislerorum (Boettger, 1892)
Cophixalus geislerorum Boettger, 1892, Kat. Batr. Samml. Mus. Senckenb. Naturforsch. Ges.: 24. Holotype: SMF 4197 (formerly 1171.2a) according to Mertens, 1967, Senckenb. Biol., 48(A): 49; given as SMF 4198 by Menzies, Tyler, and Zweifel, 1980, Bull. Zool. Nomencl., 36: 231. Type locality: "Kaiserwilhelmsland, Neuguinea", now in the northern part of Papua New Guinea.

Distribution
From the tip of the Huon Peninsula westward at least to Lae and the Wampit River and from there southeast at least as far as Kokoda and Popondetta, Northern Province, Papua New Guinea, 0-1400 m elevation.
Comment
Van Kampen, 1919, Bijdr. Dierkd., 21: 54, thought that Cophixalus geislerorum might be an Oreophryne but declined to make the combination. Zweifel, Menzies, and Price, 2003, Am. Mus. Novit., 3415: 11, noted that this species had been confused in the literature with Oreophryne biroi in the literature. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 208-209, provided a brief account.
