Cophixalus variabilis Kraus and Allison, 2006, Herpetologica, 62: 203. Holotype: BPBM 20165, by original designation. Type locality: "SE slope Mt Pekopekowana, 10.2851° S, 150.1822° E (WGS 84), 330 m, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea".

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Southeastern Milne Bay Province, including the Cloudy Mountains (700-1000 m), Owen Stanley Mountains (300-600 m), Ferguson Island (300-1500 m), and Normanby Island (sea level); extending onto the northern versant of the Owen Stanley Mountains in Central Province.

Kraus, 2010, Herpetol. Rev., 41: 246-248, provided the record for Central Province and the northern versant of the Owen Stanley Range.
