Cophixalus monticola Richards, Dennis, Trenerry, and Werren, 1994, Mem. Queensland Mus., 37: 307. Holotype: QM J58727, by original designation. Type locality: "Carbine Tableland, 16° 30′ 38″ S, 145° 16′ 18″ E, altitude 1180 m", northern Queensland, Australia.

Distribution
Known only from elevations above 1100 m on the Carbine Tableland, northwest of Cairns, northern Queensland, Australia.
