Cophixalus bombiens Zweifel, 1985, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 182: 305. Holotype: QM J42060, by original designation. Type locality: "southern side of Mt. Windsor Tableland, elevation about 900 m, approximately 40 km west-northwest of Mossman, Queensland," Australia.

Mount Windsor-Mount Thornton-Finnigan Uplands region, between Cooktown and Cairns in northeastern Queensland, Australia, 900-1300 m elevation.
