Comment

Not listed by Burton, 1986, Rec. S. Aust. Mus., 19: 405-450; without discussion. Günther, 2003, Faun. Abh. Staatl. Mus. Tierkd., Dresden, 24: 212, noted that this name covered more than a single species, a situation that was rectified by Kraus, 2012, Herpetologica, 68: 256-265. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 244-245, provided a brief account. Kraus and Allison, 2009, Bishop Mus. Occas. Pap., 104: 5, suggested that all mainland records of this nominal taxon all refer to unnamed species.
