Mantophryne microtis Werner, 1901, Zool. Anz., 24: 102. Holotype: ZMB 16499 (considered lost or destroyed by Zweifel, 1972, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 148: 494, but located by Bauer, Günther, and Robeck, 1996, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 72: 265). Type locality: "Deutsch-Neu-Guinea" (= northern part of Papua New Guinea).

Phrynomantis microtis — Noble, 1926, Am. Mus. Novit., 212: 20. by implication.

Asterophrys microtis — Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 64.

Mountain ranges of northeastern Papua New Giuinea.

Removed from the synonymy of Callulops robustus by Kraus, 2012, Herpetologica, 68: 261, where it had been placed by Zweifel, 1972, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 148: 493-494.
