Chaperina polysticta Méhely, 1901, Termés. Füzetek, 24: 208, 258. Holotype: MNH 2414/12 according to Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 158; destroyed, according to Zweifel, 2000, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 253: 50. Type locality: "Sattelberg", Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea.

English Names

Morobe Land Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 92).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality on the tipe of the Huon Peninsula, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea.

Comment

Records for Australia result from misidentifications ( Zweifel, 1962, Am. Mus. Novit., 2113: 1-40). Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 222-223, provided a brief account.
