Austrochaperina kosarek Zweifel, 2000, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 253: 38. Holotype: MZB Amph. 3561, by original designation. Type locality: "Kosarek, elevation 1400 m, Jayawijaya District, Irian Jaya [now Papua], Indonesia".

Distribution
Known only from the type locality (Kosarek, Jayawijaya District, Papua, Indonesia [New Guinea]) on the north slope of the central dividing range of Papua, about 110 km west of the border with Papua New Guinea.
