Austrochaperina derongo Zweifel, 2000, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 253: 27. Holotype: AMNH 82289, by original designation. Type locality: "Derongo, 400 m, Western Province, Papua New Guinea".

Distribution
Moderate to low elevations along the southern flank of the central dividing range from just east of the Papua (Indonesia)—Papua New Guinea border to the Purari River drainage in Gulf and Simbu Provinces.
