Hypopachus parkeri Wettstein, 1934, Zool. Anz., 105: 270. Holotype: NHMW 22899, according to Häupl and Tiedemann, 1978, Kat. Wiss. Samml. Naturhist. Mus. Wien, 2: 22, and Häupl, Tiedemann, and Grillitsch, 1994, Kat. Wiss. Samml. Naturhist. Mus. Wien, 9: 27. Type locality: "Kolonie Santa Cruz, Districto Federal, Stadtgebiet von Rio de Janeiro, Brasilien".

Distribution

Altantic rainforest in the southwestern part of the state of Rio de Janeiro and Ilhabela municipality in eastern state of São Paulo, Brazil.

Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Sterocyclops incrassatus (where it had been placed by Carvalho, 1948, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, N.S., Zool., 84: 5; Cochran, 1955 "1954", Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 206: 371-372) by Bokermann, 1966, Lista Anot. Local. Tipo Anf. Brasil.: 92, and Izecksohn and Carvalho-e-Silva, 2001, Anf. Municipio Rio de Janeiro: 94, who provided a brief account and photo. Sawaya and Haddad, 2007, Check List, 2(3): 74-76, provided a new record for São Paulo and a discusson of the range.
