Micrixalus gadgili Pillai and Pattabiraman, 1990, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 86: 386. Holotype: ZSI-SRS VA/780 according to Chanda, Das, and Dubois, 2001 "2000", Hamadryad, 25: 107. Type locality: "Dynamite House, Pamba, Sabarigiri, [Kerala,] S. India, Alt. 990 metres".

Distribution
Known from Ponmudi and Sabarigiri in Kerala, and Suruvani in Tamil Nadu, in the southern Western Ghats of India, 300-750 m elevation.
