Megophrys caudoprocta Shen, 1994, Collect. Art. 60th Anniv. Found. Zool. Soc. China: 603. Holotype: HNNU 81-801, by original designation. Type locality: "Tianping Mountain (29° 49′ N, 10° 9′ E), Sangzhi [County], Hunan Province; altitude 1600 m", China.

Xenophrys caudoprocta — Ohler, 2003, Alytes, 21: 23. by implication; Delorme, Dubois, Grosjean, and Ohler, 2006, Alytes, 24: 17.

English Names

Convex-tailed Horned Toad (Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 110).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Tianping Mountain) in Hunan Province, China.

Comment

Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 110-111, provided a brief account, map, and figure. In the Megophrys omeimontis group of Fei, Ye, Huang, Jiang, and Xie, 2005, Illust. Key Chinese Amph.: 79. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 383-386, provided an account, illustration of the holotype, and spot map.
