Scutiger occidentalis Dubois, 1978, Senckenb. Biol., 59: 164. Holotype: MNHNP 1977.1069, by original designation. Type locality: "un torrent sous le village de Shukdhari, 2920-2940 m, près de Sonamarg, Cochemire (Jammu and Kashmir, India)". Synonymy by Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 19.

Western Nepal, Kashmir, Ladakh, and southeastern Xizang (= Tibet), China, 2730-4560 m elevation.
