Distribution

Known only from Muli County, southwestern Sichuan, China, 3050-3400 m elevation.

Comment

Stated to be related to Scutiger mammatus in the original publication. Synonymy, without discussion, with Scutiger mammatus, by Zhao and Adler, 1993, Herpetol. China: 125; this arrangement not accepted by Fu, Lathrop, and Murphy, 1997, Asiat. Herpetol. Res., 7: 32-37. See Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 90-91, for brief account, figure, and map.
