Distribution

Known only from the type locality (holotype only), Sichuan, China.

Comment

Resurrected from the synonymy of Scutiger boulengeri by Liu and Hu, 1961, Tailless Amph. China: 55, and Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 14, where it had been placed by Liu, 1950, Fieldiana, Zool. Mem., 2: 181-185. Ohler and Dubois, 1992, J. Herpetol., 26: 245-249, discussed and redescribed the holotype. See brief account, figure, and map by Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 68-69. Fei and Ye, 2001, Color Handbook Amph. Sichuan: 107, also provided a brief account and illustration. In the Oreolalax weigoldi group of Fei, Ye, Huang, Jiang, and Xie, 2005, Illust. Key Chinese Amph.: 58, and Wei, Li, Xu, and Jiang, 2007, Chinese J. Zool., 42: 169-173. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 119-123, provided an account, spot map, and illustration of the holotype. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 132-133, provided a brief account including photographs of specimens and habitat.
