Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (Yuexi-Xian, Sichuan, China), 2600-2900 m elevation.

Placed in the synonymy Oreolalax schmidti by Inger, Zhao, Shaffer, and Wu, 1990, Fieldiana, Zool., N.S.,, 58: 7, but this was rejected by Ye, Fei, and Hu, 1993, Rare and Economic Amph.
