Ophryophryne microstoma Boulenger, 1903, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 7, 12: 187. Syntypes: BMNH (4 specimens); BMNH 1947.2.22.52 (formerly 1903.4.29.106) designated lectotype by Ohler, 2003, Alytes, 21: 31. Type locality: "Man-son Mountains, Tonkin, altitude 3000-4000 feet", Vietnam.

Ophryophryne poilani Bourret, 1937, Annexe Bull. Gen. Instr. Publique, Hanoi, 1937: 8. Holotype: MNHNP 1948.113, according to Guibé, 1950 "1948", Cat. Types Amph. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat.: 16. Type locality: "Dong-Tam-Ve, province de Quang-Tri (Annam)", Vietnam. Synonymy by Ohler, 2003, Alytes, 21: 31. This synonymy disputed by Stuart, Rowley, Thy, Emmett, and Sitha, 2010, Cambodian J. Nat. Hist., 2010: 38.

Distribution

Northern Vietnam and adjacent southern Guangxi and Yunnan, China; north-central Thailand; northern and eastern Laos; northeastern mountain regions of Cambodia.

Rept. Yunnan: 34-35, provided a brief account for Yunnan, China. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 472-477, provided an account for China and spot map. Stuart, Rowley, Thy, Emmett, and Sitha, 2010, Cambodian J. Nat. Hist., 2010: 38, provided a record for northeastern Cambodia (as Ophryophryne poilani) and disputed the synonymy as well as documenting sympatry Ophryophryne hansi.
