Comment

The epithet hansi is a noun in apposition, not a genitive, as noted in the original publication. Stuart, Sok, and Neang, 2006, Raffles Bull. Zool., 54: 135, reported the species in Cambodia and who noted that the animal pictured of the holotype in the original publication was neither the holotype nor a specimen of Ophryophryne hansi. See comments by Inger, Orlov, and Darevsky, 1999, Fieldiana, Zool., N.S.,, 92: 9 (as Ophryophryne poilani). Stuart, 2005, Herpetol. Rev., 36: 475, provided records for Laos. Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297: 312, noted the occurrence of this species in Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam. Bain, Nguyen, and Doan, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 108, provided records from Thua Thien-Hue Province, Vietnam, and briefly discussed the range.
