Probreviceps rhodesianus Poynton and Broadley, 1967, Arnoldia, Zimbabwe, 3: 1. Holotype: NMZB (formerly UM) 10651, by original designation. Type locality: "immediately below the John Meikle Forest Research Station at 5,300 feet (c. 1,600 m.) in the Stapleford Forest Reserve, Umtali District", Zimbabwe.
