Leptolalax pluvialis Ohler, Marquis, Swan, and Grosjean, 2000, Herpetozoa, 13: 74. Holotype: MNHNP 1999.5675, by original designation. Type locality: "Fan Si Pan mountain range (22° 19′ N, 103° 47′ E; 1900 m), Lao Cai Province, Vietnam . . . . near a small mountain stream in montane forest".

English Names

Rainy Toad (Nguyen, Ho, and Nguyen, 2005, Checklist Amph. Rept. Vietnam: 13).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Fan Si Pan [mountain range], Lao Cai Province, Vietnam); expected in adjacent Yunnan, China.

Comment

The record by Bain, Nguyen, and Doan, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 108, from Ha Giang Province, Vietnam, was allocated to Leptolalax nyx by Ohler, Wollenberg, Grosjean, Hendrix, Vences, Ziegler, and Dubois, 2011, Zootaxa, 3147: 43-46.
