Leptolalax melanoleucus Matsui, 2006, Zool. Sci., Tokyo, 22: 822. Holotype: KUHE 19720, by original designation. Type locality: "Khlong Saeng Wildlife Sanctuary, Surat Thani Province, Thailand (9° 15′ N, 98° 39′ E)".

Distribution
Central peninsular Thailand in the region of Khlong Saeng north along the Myanmar border to the vicinity of Pilok in southwestern mainland Thailand.
Comment
Ohler, Wollenberg, Grosjean, Hendrix, Vences, Ziegler, and Dubois, 2011, Zootaxa, 3147: 1-83, characterized the species comparatively.
