Callulina kreffti Nieden, 1911 "1910", Sitzungsber. Ges. Naturforsch. Freunde Berlin, 1910: 449. Syntypes: ZMB 21777-78 and AMNH 23600 (formerly ZMB 23600) according to Bauer, Günther, and Robeck, 1996, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 72: 261; ZMB 21778 is lectotype ('Type') by implication of Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 181. Type locality: "Amani" (ZMB 21778, AMNH 23600) and "Tanga"(ZMB 21777), Tanzania; "Amani" by lectotype designation.

English Names

Krefft's Secret Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 88).

Krefft's Warty Frog (Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 222).

Distribution

Taita Hills and coastal Kenya and in Tanzania in the East Usambaras, Ulugurus, Ngurus, Ukagurus, and Udzungwa mountains.

Comment

Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 222-223, and Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 223, provided accounts. Records of Callulina from the ,Ulugurus, Ngurus, Ukagurus, and Udzungwa mountains have been assigned to different species according to Loader, Gower, Müller, and Menegon, 2010, Zootaxa, 2694: 26-27.
