Leptobrachium gunungensis Malkmus, 1996, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 72: 297. Holotype: ZMB 53628, by original designation. Type locality: "Mount Kinabalu, North Borneo . . . . Sungei Carson, 1850 m".

Leptobrachium (Leptobrachium) gunungense — Dubois and Ohler, 1998, Dumerilia, 4: 16-23. Delorme, Dubois, Grosjean, and Ohler, 2006, Alytes, 24: 12; agreement in gender.

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Montane tropical wet forest on the southern slopes of Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, northern Borneo (Malaysia), 1750-2200 m elevation.

Comment

Most closely related to Leptobrachium montanum according to the original publication. Malkmus, Manthey, Vogel, Hoffmann, and Kosuch, 2002, Amph. Rept. Mount Kinabalu: 93-94, provided an account.
