Vicinity of the type locality (Nosiarivo) on the Ankaratra Massif at elevations of ca. 2200 m, central Madagascar.
Comment
Vences and Glaw, 1999, Herpetol. J., 9: 101-110, redescribed and discussed this species and formally rejected its synonymy with Boophis madecassus by Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 254. Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3: 236-237, provided an account and noted an unnamed similar species from Itremo.
