Rhacophorus (Philautus) madecassus Millot and Guibé, 1950, Mem. Inst. Sci. Madagascar, Ser. A, 4: 203. Syntypes: MNHNP 1953.246 (9 specimens), by original designation; MNHNP 1953.246 (other former syntypes renumbered) designated lectotype by Vences and Glaw, 1999, Herpetol. J., 9: 106. Type locality: "Andringitra: Cirque Boby (altitude: 2.520 métres)", Madagascar.
